Campgrounds & RV parks

How this bin works for campgrounds — operators across BC

Campgrounds and RV parks deal with the same problem every long weekend: guests generate more bags and packaging than your cans were sized for, but you don’t always want a massive industrial roll-off blocking a loop or chewing up asphalt. Our trailer-style bins are sized for real visitor traffic — easy to place near washhouses, trailheads, or the office without owning the whole roadway.

How it works on your property

  • One contained station for refuse. Guests see one obvious spot for trash — fewer side piles beside fire pits or tucked behind trailers after checkout Sunday night.
  • Seasonal peaks without permanent infrastructure. Bring capacity in for July–August or events, then scale back when your occupancy drops — ideal when you’re testing new loops or expanding tent sites.
  • Trailer placement & pickup rhythm. We drop it where access allows; you fill on your schedule; we haul when you’re ready (full service). Self-service options may suit municipally serviced parks — tell us how your gate and towing rules work when you book.
  • Lids that stay put. Sturdy, weatherproof lids matter when wind picks up off the lake or when you’re trying to run a tidy yard overnight — especially important for parks mindful of wildlife and scent management (always follow local regulations and your operational plan).

Written for campground operators anywhere in British Columbia

Whether you’re on Vancouver Island, in the Okanagan or Thompson country, running loops in the Cariboo or Peace, or tucked along a highway in the North — the workflow is the same: predictable placement, contained refuse, and pickup that fits checkouts and maintenance windows.

Kootenay Bins is rooted in the West Kootenay (Trail, Rossland, Castlegar, Nelson, Salmo and nearby). That’s where our rental routes are densest — but we welcome inquiries from campgrounds anywhere in BC. If you’re outside our usual radius, we’ll be straight about timing and logistics, or point you toward purchase options if owning bins province-wide is the better fit.
